The crisp ormolu (finely gilded bronze), beautifully modelled and chased, is mounted with exquisite Sèvres style porcelain. The urn to the top of the case and the lower panels are beautifully painted with floral swags, butterflies and birds. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. Please note that this type of clock does not have a glazed bezel. The French movement is by. And is of excellent quality.

It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the gilding is clean and bright with some wear and discolouration in places.

The porcelain is very good, there is some wear, some minor loss to the applied'jewels' and overglaze decoration. The dial is also very good, lettering is slightly worn and there is some slight chipping around the winding holes. Le Roy et Fils (founded 1785).
